Levon Stilson Announces Campaign for Senate District 11

Army veteran launches campaign focused on freedom, safety, and economic prosperity

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO––Levon Stilson this week officially launched his campaign for Senate District 11, entering the race with a focus on affordability, public safety, and freedom.

“I was born in the State of Colorado and have always carried a deep commitment to service, leadership, and defending America’s safety and prosperity,” Stilson said. “Colorado deserves leaders whose number one priority is serving the people they represent.”

At the age of 17, Stilson enlisted in the United States Army. During basic training, his discipline and work ethic were recognized by his Drill Sergeants, and he was selected for assignment to the United States Army Old Guard. There, he served as a casket bearer, conducting full honors funerals for fallen service members. Standing alongside grieving families during their most difficult moments instilled in him a profound respect for sacrifice, duty, and country.

After the birth of his second child, Stilson deployed to Afghanistan with the 2nd Brigade, 2-12 Infantry Battalion. That experience strengthened his appreciation for the freedom, security, and prosperity Americans enjoy.

Stilson said his campaign draws a clear contrast with the incumbent Democrat Senator Tony Exum on fiscal accountability and constitutional limits on government. Exum voted to repeal the Gallagher Amendment, removing constitutional caps that helped keep residential property taxes in check, and supported Proposition HH, which would have eliminated future TABOR refunds owed to taxpayers.

“Colorado families are struggling because government keeps taking more and giving less back,” Stilson said. “TABOR exists to protect taxpayers and prevent government overreach. I believe refunds belong to the people, not the state.”

Stilson’s campaign will focus on expanding school choice, defending constitutional freedoms, restoring public safety, and advancing policies that make Colorado more affordable for working families.
